Registration

Registration for the 10th Anniversary 2011 season will be held on Saturday, March 19, from 10 a.m. until noon at Total Athletics which is located at 8340 Stone Run Ct., Suite 101, Tampa, FL 33615. Parents should bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate along with payment. Flag & Mighty Mites are $200 and all other squads are $275. Checks should be made out to Westchase Colts. Please keep in mind, refund requests will only be honored before June 1st, 2011.

Please note: The following squads are full for the 2011 season: Pee Wee Cheer, Super Midget Cheer, Flag Football, Pee Wee Football and Super Midget Football. If you’d like to be put on the waiting list for any of these squads, please email the Colts Registrar at registrar@westchasecolts.com.

League age is determined by the cheerleader’s age
as of Sept. 1 of the league year, except for
Varsity which uses their age as of Dec. 31.
League age is determined by the player’s age
as of July 31 of the league year.

Light weight football players who would normally play their correct division based on age can sometimes play down to the smaller/younger division. This rule is more commonly known by the term ‘playdown’. Playdowns can be a year older than the normal age required, but must also be much lighter than the max weight for the division. Please note there are no allowances for Flag or Varsity playdowns. The exact rules are as follows:

Pee Wee Playdowns: Each player cannot weigh more than 67 pounds
and cannot be older than league age 9.

Super Midget Playdowns: Each player cannot weigh more than 85 pounds
and cannot be older than league age 11.

Midget Playdowns: Each player cannot weigh more than 110 pounds
and cannot be older than league age 13.

Practice & Game Information

The normal TBYFL season usually begins with practices starting mid to late July. The Westchase Colts usually practice 5 days a week during the initial portion of practices that do not overlap with the beginning of the school year. After school starts, practices are normally held at the Ed Radice Sports Complex every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Games for tackle squads are held on Saturdays and usually run from mid-August until late October. Teams advancing into the playoffs can sometimes play until late November.

Flag games are held on Wednesday nights starting in mid-August and run until late October.
